Publisher/developer Eidos Interactive and Tonner Doll Company, Inc., have announced a deal to release an action figure based on the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Legend video game. For Robert Tonner, CEO of Tonner Doll Company, the chance to sculpt Lara Croft is the opportunity of a lifetime. "Lara Croft was an opportunity for me to enter a new realm," said Tonner. "As a sculptor, a chance to create an entirely new body is incredibly rewarding. Lara Croft allowed me to express, in the sculpt, both the strength and femininity for which she has become legendary."
Since her virtual debut in the original Tomb Raider game, Lara Croft has been known as a gaming icon. Tonner looked to capture that essence. "In creating Lara Croft as a [figurine], I wanted to capture her essence and spirit in all the detail," explained Tonner. "We worked closely with Eidos to ensure every facet of the figure is completely accurate."
Dubbed TONNER'S Lara Croft, the 17-inch posable, collectible figurine debuted earlier today at Wizard World Chicago. For more information, visit TonnerDirect.com.
