Cryptic Studios is already working on their next-gen super hero themed MMO Champions Online but they have hinted that they are already working on another game. Now the developer's web site has a countdown clock with a space background indicating that in late July they will finally reveal their plans for their next title.

Rumors have been flying around since the first of the year that Cryptic's next game will, in fact, be a revival of Star Trek Online. The first version was in development for some time but crashed and burned with the shutdown of its original developer Perpetual Entertainment. Adding fuel to that rumor is the space background for the countdown clock which apparently is a concept shot for the first version of the game that was collected by fan site Trekcore.
