Latest EVE Online expansion goes to war

As previously announced, CCP has now launched their latest free content expansion for their long running space based MMO EVE Online. The expansion is titled Empyrean Age (Why? We still aren't sure) and signals a new direction in the game as all out war begins for the the four major Empires in the game. Players will be able to direct the tide of the war.

New features in this expans include a new region of space called Black Rise with 49 new star systems along with combat zones, factional militas and ranks and statistics to let players know their own kills as well as those of their corporation and ranks. Players will be able to read a novel about the events leading up to the storyline in the expansion, EVE: The Empyrean Age, by author Tony Gonzales, on June 19.
