According to StarCraft2.com, the Baneling is "a creature so bloated with fluid-filled sacs that it can barely walk; instead, it moves itself by tucking into a tight ball and rolling." Once it detects an enemy within close proximity, the Baneline detonates, ravaging its target. The action does, of course, destroy the poor little Baneling.
