The space strategy game genre got a huge boost this year with the success of Ironclad Games' Sins of a Solar Empire. Independent game developer Clear Crown Studios hopes to have similar success with their upcoming title Shattered Suns. This week the developer announced a new release date of August 19 for the game.

The game was previously announced for released next week but according to a press release on the game's web site Clear Crown Studios stated they wanted to give more time for their beta testers to check out the latest beta build of the game. Shattered Suns is claiming to offer up some unique features such as customizable units and a new approach to the traditional single player campaign. We will take a closer look at the game as it approaches its new release date.
