Guide to Medic Achievements, Part 1

Welcome, Herr Doktor. No doubt you have at least sampled the waters of the new TF2 update, resplendent in it's new content. However, you are not concerned over the new Gold Rush map, or the new Payload gametype. No, you are most likely aiming to obtain your überweapons: the Blütsauger, Kritzkrieg, and Übersaw. Unfortunately, you have to complete the many new medic achievements, ranging from the incredibly hard to the very simple. Thankfully for you, Herr Doktor, we have compiled a guide to acquiring those achievements in the easiest way possible. Keep this in mind the next time we proclaim our love for you.

Autoclave

Assist in burning five enemies with a single übercharge on a Pyro

Doing this normally is fairly easy. Just attach yourself to a pyro and build your übercharge. If you get it your über, it's a good idea to tell your attached pyro that you have it, so you can work towards getting the achievement. Remember, you have to burn 5 people all in a single über, so running at a group of enemies is the way to go. Try to avoid defensive emplacements as well, as they can cause too much knockback for you.

Farming it works the same way. Get 5 people willing to be burned, über a pyro, and get to it. Great achievement to work with if the enemy is working on the Infernal Medicine achievement.

Tip: You can burn the same people 5 times. It still counts as burning 5 enemies. You just have to wait until the flames go out the first time. Also, it's useful to build über on another player, such as a heavy or soldier, and switch to the pyro when need be.

Infernal Medicine

Extinguish one hundred burning teammates

This one is all about the grind. To do this in normal play, just keep an eye out for a pyro setting people on fire. Remember that if you use your medigun on somebody on fire, it extinguishes it. So if he sets a whole bunch of people on fire, just rapidly switch between them to work on the achievement. You'll get it eventually.

To farm this achievement, get a whole bunch of players from your team, an enemy pyro, and have him set them on fire. Just have yourself put out the fires, and you'll get it fairly quickly. This is a good one to work with Autoclave, as chances are an enemy medic healing the pyro wants the Autoclave achievement, and the achievement only requires burning, not death.

Tip: You need only briefly tag a burning player with your medigun to extinguish them. If you do brief tags, you'll earn it faster when farming, and let yourself get back to normal healing in regular play.

Hypocritical Oath

Kill an enemy spy that you have been healing.

This is a middling achievement to get in normal play. It's not common, to get it, but not hard. Here's two ways to do it in normal play. First off, if you see a spy sapping some sentries, heal him quickly, then run up and bonesaw him. You'll get the achievement extremely easily. Second, if the guy you are healing suddenly gets the "Master of Disguise" achievement because you healed him, he's a spy. Kill him, and you'll get the Hypocritical Oath.

As for farming it, well, it's really easy. Cooperate with an enemy spy. Have him disguise and call for medic. heal him, and bonesaw him back to the stone age. You'll get both Hypocritical Oath and one more step towards FYI I'm A Medic.

Tip: You don't have to use the bonesaw, but it deals the most damage in your arsenal, and is humiliating to boot.

FYI I am a Medic

Use a bonesaw to kill five enemy spies who have been calling for Medic.

This one is entertaining, and was inspired by this video of a hilarious spy kill. As for obtaining it in normal play, look for players acting suspiciously and asking for heals. If you manage to catch one, bonesaw him. On a normal server, it's both a good spy check and a way to progress towards FYI I'm A Medic.

If you are farming, well, get several spies to disguise as a friendly player in front of you, and have them yell medic. Kill them, and away you go. You only need 5 kills, making this achievement absurdly easy to farm.

Big Pharma

Assist a heavy in killing twenty enemies where neither of you die

This is the one that requires the most farming, as doing this in normal gameplay is next to impossible. However, if you want to do this in normal gameplay, my suggestion is to get at least 2 medics on a single heavy and have him start killing guys like crazy. This is a perfect achievement for defensive teams, as you can just retreat if either of you start to hurt.

Farming this makes the achievement far easier. Get on a CTF map with 30 minutes. Get a bunch of guys on BLU, and the heavy and a medic on RED. Bring the heavy to the spawn entrance, and just have him let lose. Works best if the majority of BLU players are scouts. Make sure to watch your ammo reserves, and pick up weapons from fallen scouts. Done right, you can get a Big Pharma achievement for the healing medic once every minute.

Tip: Only the person getting the assist point gets this achievement. So make sure not to keep the other players from it by continuing to heal the heavy after you have it.

Blunt Trauma

Assist in punching two enemies with a single übercharge on a Heavy

This one can be hard or easy, depending on the heavy you are attached to. Either way, you have to let him know that you are going for this achievement, because it's not an achievement you are likely to run across in normal play. If your heavy tends to get right up against the enemy (some do), then ask him to switch to fists. Once he does, über him, and you'll be great. If he's the kind of heavy that keeps far away, you'll have to convince him to be a close heavy for a few minutes while you punch people.

This one is really easy to farm. Charge an über, get two enemies to stand next to each other, uber the heavy and have him punch them both. Takes almost no time whatsoever, and minimal effort.

Tip: You only need to punch them, not kill them.
