Yet another Steam and TF2 update

It seems that the much-lauded TF2 Gold Rush update caused as many problems as cool new stuff it introduced. Two new official Valve updates have just been released to address some more issues. The first is a client update that fixes bugs involving launching GoldSRC (Half-life 1) mods as well as network issues and an inability to launch Portal: First Slice. The second is a TF2 update that fixes yet another infinite übercharge exploit, the extremely annoying "reliable snapshot overflow" error, and the inability for user maps to have functioning elevators. This still doesn't damper my enthusiasm for the new content, though!
