There is certainly no shortage of PC racing sim games; SimBin's GTR and RACE titles are two great examples in this genre. However the most recognized racing sim game for the consoles is the Gran Turismo franchise. So far all of the games in the Polyphony Digital created series have been released for Sony's Playstation consoles (the latest, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, is due out for the Playstation 3 this week). But could the Gran Turismo series also make an appearance on the PC platform?

It's something that's Polyphony Digital head man Kazunori Yamauchi brought up himself in a chat with the Austria web site deStandard. While he said that it was unlikely that the series would come out on any other consoles, Yamauchi said it "perhaps" could appear on the PC. He then added that they might target the Chinese market for any PC game release. That may mean that any possible Gran Turismo game may not be coming to US shores anytime soon. Still it would be interesting to see what the developer could create with the higher hardware specs of the PC.
