Mini-Games help to promote Lord Of The Rings Online expansion
Recently Turbine announced plans to release their first commercial expansion pack for their fantasy MMO Lord of the Rings Online. While the expansion, named The Mines of Moria, isn't due for release until this fall, the expansion's official web site has already launched. Turbine decided to make the site more than just a promo page; they will also provide web based mini-games that when played will unlock videos, screenshots and in-game items from the Mines of Moria expansion. The first mini-game, a tactical strategy title called King Under the Mountain, is already live at the Mines of Moria web site; other mini-games like Swig & Toss and Eleventy-Seven Morsels are promised for future updates.
